Parental Leave Payments have increased by 6.33% from Friday 1 July 2022 to match the rise in average weekly earnings. 

The maximum weekly rate for employees and self-employed parents has increased from $621.76 to $661.12 gross per week. 

 

Eligible parents are entitled to receive payments that are equal to their normal pay up to the maximum rate mentioned above. 

 

The minimum rate has also increased from $200 to $212 gross per week, which is a reflection of the minimum wage increase passed in April this year. Self-employed parents are also entitled to this minimum rate which is equivalent to 10 hours per week worked at the minimum wage rate of $21.20an hour.
